For the month of February, my installation Dress Shop Window Wonderland will take over the Window Gallery space at the Pine Rivers Art Gallery! The shop opens on Monday 3rd February. A huge thanks to Tracey, Karl, Hayley and all the team at Moreton Bay Region Galleries and Museums for this wonderful opportunity!
I love installing my art in non-white cube spaces where possible, so the Window Gallery at Pine Rivers is perfect for me! Open to the public 24/7, this unconventional space will become an expanded practice-style dress shop window with a twist. Once again I am critiquing the sign of the dress - what does it mean to wear a dress in today's society? This installation, designed especially for the Window Gallery, will draw on the codes and conventions of the high street dress shop window and the prom/ball/formal.
