I am participating in my first members' exhibition at Impress Studios and Gallery this month. Here is my work, Wedding Day, hanging alongside members' work in the upstairs gallery. Wedding Day is a digital photograph consisting of my mother's wedding photo overlaid with a hard ground etching I made in Melbourne in January. This print forms part of my work investigating women's roles and identities. The etching overlay functions as a kind of decorative stamp, akin to a passport stamp. My mother has 'arrived' as a woman and is embarking on her new journey into married life.
